The Merits of Solid Tungsten Carbide Nozzles

Our wire guide nozzles in Solid Tungsten Carbide offer the following advantages:

CHECK ICON   Thoroughly mirror finished wire entrance, exit and bore surfaces
                    eliminate insulation damage

                 Superior rigidity
CHECK ICON   Capable of being fabricated to complex geometries
                 Concentricity to within 0.01 mm

            Images above validate the merits.

Technical Data

Hardness value: 1,400 – 1,600 Vickers, which is 1.7 times that of hardened carbon steel
(See Hardness Comparison - Wikipedia for hardness conversion )

       Young's modulus:         450 - 650 MPa

       Fracture toughness:     6 - 8 MPa m1/2

       Surface roughness:      0.05 – 0.1 microns or 2 – 4 micro inches Ra.

       Bore diameter:             Choice of 0.15,  0.2,  0.3,  0.4,  0.5,  0.6,  0.7,  0.8,  1.0,
                                              1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.5,  2.0 mm.

Outside diameter:          0.5 – 6.0 mm, wall thickness governing.

Length:                           10 – 100 mm, aspect ratio governing.

The Wire Guide Nozzles Part Number System innovated by COSMOS in 1993 is applicable in describing our 1-diameter and 2-diameter wire guide nozzles.  The 3-diameter and complex geometry wire guide nozzles are best described in dimensional drawings.
