Caged Pulley Prevents Wire Jumping
Caged Pulley is recommended for use where the wire turns at acute angle, a problem spot leading to wire jumping. When guided in a caged pulley, the wire runs on a revolving guide surface between two diamond--lapped side plates, keeping friction to a minimum. A floating ball or one or two protruding ears prevent the wire from going astray. The exploded view below left illustrates the construction of a floating ball caged pulley, Dimensional drawings of 8 Caged Pulleys follow.
