          Ruby is the hardest material we have chosen for air wipe to clean delicate wire. Our
Ruby Air Wipe is available in 2 styles:

            Modular Ruby Air Wipe AWM 5 for new installation
            Ruby Air Wipe AM 5 in pairs for replacing existing alumina air wipe         

How does the AWM 5 Air Wipe work?  

          Compressed air flows through the 4 X 2 mm quick air hose coupling into the cleaning chamber between the 2 ruby orifices at high velocity, uniformly blowing away water, copper dust from the precisely centered wire. The orifices, being fabricated and assembled to close tolerances plus their respective superb hardness, attribute to the unique merits of the AWM 5 Ruby Air Wipe:

            Mirror finished wire path eliminates frictional damage
            Centered wire maximizes cleaning action
            Minimum clearance between wire and orifices reduces air consumption

           While the twin-mount ruby air wipe depicted above is the more popular, multiple 3, 4, 5- line air wipes are available upon request. The pitch distance or the distance between the lines is: 30 mm.

AW 5 Air Wipe for Direct Replacement

         Ruby Air Wipe AW 5 in pairs shown above are available for direct replacement onto existing multi-line wire drawing annealers, such as, the Niehoff air wipe fitted with alumina eyelets. Reports from customers worldwide who have switched to COSMOS ruby air wipe confirmed that not only the quality of the wire improves but also the service life actually extended by a factor of 5, which translates into reduced inventory and machine downtime.
